Nikki Haley: “If Russia had lived up to its commitment, there would be no chemical weapons in Syria, and we would not be here today.”

From Wikipedia: Nimrata "Nikki" Haley (née Randhawa, born January 20, 1972 is the 29th and current United States Ambassador to the United Nations. She served as the 116th governor of South Carolina and is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. Haley was the first female governor of South Carolina and the second Indian-American, after fellow Republican Bobby Jindal, to serve as a governor in the United States.

During the 2012 presidential campaign, Republican nominee Mitt Romney considered Haley as a potential vice presidential running mate, though Haley said that she would turn down any offer due to her position as governor. She delivered the official Republican response to President Barack Obama's 2016 State of the Union Address on January 12, 2016. On November 23, 2016, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Haley for the position of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, which Haley accepted. Haley was confirmed by the Senate in a 96–4 vote and was subsequently sworn in on January 25, 2017. In 2016, Haley was named among "The 100 Most Influential People" by Time magazine....

CONGRESS IS UNEARTHING FACEBOOK’S TERRIBLE POWER

...The problem Zuckerberg faces is running an empire that’s too big for any one entity to control. The largest virtual public square in the world, one that provides a communications tool to 2.2 billion users is overseen by one individual. Zuckerberg created something that is far bigger than himself, and he–along with the rest of us–failed to account for the unintended consequences in advance. We’re concerned about who gets access to our information, yes. But as yesterday’s Senate hearing revealed, we’re also concerned about many other ways Facebook is impacting our lives. We’re worried our children are becoming addicted to it. We’re concerned it’s quantifying and minimizing important relationships, and leaving us less connected. We are horrified by the images and posts that can crop up the platform, and we’re just as appalled by the idea that one private entity could decide what gets taken down. Now we are tasked collectively with figuring out how to steward this platform into the future, and we don’t think Zuckerberg is up to the task....

CFRW June Primary Positions

The June Primary Election is right around the corner, 55 days away, if you can believe it. So, it is high time we start educating voters on the ballot measures! The California Federation of Republican Women publish our ballot measure positions every election. These are the official positions of the CFRW, voted on by the CFRW Voting Body. The Voting Body is made up of our CFRW State President, the three State Division Vice-Presidents, and the three Division Presidents. These 7 women study analyses complied by the CFRW Advocate and the CFRW Ballot Measures Legislative Analyst. After a consensus vote, our official positions are made. Information, talking points, and voter-guides will be available in each Capitol Update leading to the Primary Election. It is YOUR responsibility as a Californian and a member of the California Federation of Republican Women to educate voters!

Remember when talking to voters about the Ballot Measures- they are written intentionally to persuade the voter for their desired outcome. Who can manipulate ballot measures to sway the outcome? Governor Brown, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, and Attorney General Xavier Beccera. Those three very power Democrats have gate-keeping power for almost all ballot measures. They decide the language, the title, the summary, and the order in which the ballot measures are listed. Every voter should understand the power in shaping elections that the Governor, Secretary of State, and the state Attorney General have.

In the upcoming Capitol Updates, until June 5th, we will highlight each Proposition with information on it’s history and journey to the ballot, the rationale for our positions, talking points for educating voters, and closer to the election we will provide easy voter-guides to distribute before election day. For today, we will list the Propositions by number, title, a one sentence summary, and our position. If you have any questions about a ballot measure or our positions, please email our Advocate at advocate@cfrw.org.

AB 2943 Update

AB 2943 (Low, D) passed through the Assembly Judiciary Committee last week on a 8-1 vote. It is now waiting for its third reading and arguments on the Assembly floor. As you will recall, AB 2943 would make it fraud to offer to help any adult questioning their gender or sexuality. This would include offering pamphlets, counseling, books, or other reference material even if the adult inquired themselves. This could create expensive lawsuits and unfairly targets the first amendments rights of our churches and other family therapists. The bill claims to protect consumers, but ultimately the unintended consequences far outweigh any “protection” it truly provides. Call YOUR Assemblymember, Democrat AND Republican, and ask them to protect our First Amendment rights and vote NO on AB 2943! Find your Assemblymember ◼ HERE.

You can copy and paste into your club's newsletter. You can forward this email to people you know (if you do choose to forward, remember to erase the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email. Talk to Mueller? No, Trump Should Use His Bully Pulpit to Expose Mueller's Corruption

There is no way to sugarcoat it – especially after the lawless invasion of the attorney-client privilege by fancy-suited thugs, if President Donald Trump sits down and talks to Robert Mueller and his pack of Democrat donor corruptocrats, he’s an idiot.

Instead, he needs to take his case to the people – because a blind man can see that he’s being framed....

Donald Trump is their target, though they absolutely and unequivocally know he committed no crime. They don’t care.

It’s not the truth that Donald Trump has to worry about. It’s the lies. Mueller and his pack of Hillary hitmen will not hesitate, not for a second, to manufacture a crime if that’s what it takes....

This is not a game. And this is more than about just one man. These kangaroo court shenanigans are designed to use fear of prosecution to permanently lock out of office anyone the elite disapproves of – and to lock in their unchallenged, unquestioned control of the reins of power. The potential consequences are much worse than just impeachment – this kind of attack on the rule of law is at the top of a slippery slope that can end with a nation split apart and even embroiled in civil conflict. Liberals are already fantasizing about winning a new “civil war.”

It’s time to get serious. There’s no upside to playing footsie with these demonstrably partisan prosecutors. Trump is never, ever going to convince Mueller and his mob that he should be exonerated. That will never happen....

Zuckerberg to the American people: Says Obama Staffer Lied About Alliance With Facebook

While testifying in front of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the former Obama campaign staffer who claimed the company allowed the Obama campaign to do things “they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side” was lying....

Scalise asked:
… One of the lead digital heads of the Obama campaign said recently: “Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn't stop us once they realized that was what we were doing. They came to office in the days following election recruiting and were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn't have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.” Now, that's a direct quote from one of the heads of the Obama digital team. What would she mean by they, Facebook, were on our side?
Zuckerberg responded that Facebook “didn't allow the Obama campaign to do anything that any developer on the platform wouldn't have otherwise been able to do.”
