The politicians in Sacramento are preparing to have a special meeting to raise gas taxes.

7 Key Measures of California’s Transportation Challenges - Fox&Hounds via Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association

The politicians in Sacramento are preparing to have a special meeting to raise gas taxes. (AGAIN!) They claim the high gas taxes Californians already pay aren't enough but they aren't telling you that out of $10 billion dedicated to "transportation" only $2 billion go to roads.

Ben Carson Debate Highlights - Amazing!

“Donald Trump is hitting a nerve in this country,” Kasich said. “People are frustrated, fed up. People who want to just tune [Trump] out are making a mistake.”

...But when another Fox moderator, Chris Wallace, tried to call Trump to task for calling some Mexicans who cross the border illegally “rapists” and drug dealers, Trump airily dismissed him.

“If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be talking about illegal immigration, Chris,” Trump said. “Our leaders are stupid, our politicians are stupid, and the Mexican government is much smarter, much sharper, much more cunning, and they send the bad ones over because they don’t want to pay for them.

“Why should they when the stupid leaders of the United States will do it for them? And that’s what’s happening whether you like it or not,” Trump said.

So now was the time for the other candidates to jump on Trump, right? Nope.

Wallace called on Ohio Gov. John Kasich. And Wallace got a shock.

“Donald Trump is hitting a nerve in this country,” Kasich said. “People are frustrated, fed up. People who want to just tune [Trump] out are making a mistake.”

“Gov. Rubio,” Wallace said to Marco Rubio, “let’s see if I can do better with you.”

But Rubio wouldn’t go along with Wallace’s attempt to start a Republican brawl, either.

“People are frustrated,” Rubio said. “We are the most generous country in the world when it comes to immigration. And people feel they are being taken advantage of.”

“I believe we need to secure the border,” Walker said....

GREENFIELD: WHAT IF TRUMP WINS?

DRUDGE This Morning:
Sometimes voters do break the rules. - Politico
Every political analyst, every political observer, every politician is absolutely sure that Donald Trump is not going to be the Republican nominee for president in 2016. And we’re all absolutely sure that Donald Trump is not going to be sworn in as president on January 20, 2017. Could we all be wrong?

Giuliani: 'We Might Have A Little Reagan Here'... - Real Clear Politics
"First of all, he's not a Roman candle," Giuliani told host Chris Matthews. "This is a very smart guy. This is a person who is media savvy in ways that some of the other candidates aren't. And he's a lot more substantive than you realize. I've know Donald 25 years. Meaning, he understands a lot of the world issues with a lot more depth than you probably realize."

"So we might have a little of a Ronald Reagan here, a guy they underestimate," Giuliani observed. "And in my particular case, I'm personal friends with five or six of them. And I have a hard time deciding who I'd like to see be president and I'm probably going to take a little while. But I expect Donald Trump is going to do pretty darn well tomorrow night."

PP Official: Dissecting Aborted Babies ‘Sickening on Some Level, But It’s Fun’

On page 79 of the 119-page transcript of the fifth video released Tuesday by CMP, which is posted on YouTube, Farrell discusses how PPGC’s abortionists often ask her if she has any “projects” because “it seems like a waste to throw away this tissue.”

PP Farrell: “It’s very exciting, it’s one of those things that when we get together with staff upstairs, a lot of them on their way by: ‘Do you have any projects, it seems like a waste to throw away this tissue.’ I know. Everyone asks about it.”

Buyer: “It’s a natural fit, right?”

I know it’s sickening on some level, but it’s fun.”PP Farrell: “It would be exciting too if you needed it dissected, because LaShonda and I are the most Curious George of the group. I know it’s sickening on some level, but it’s fun.”

Buyer: “Now, let’s think about it.”

President Obama's latest proposal could destroy the lives of thousands of rural Americans...will Congress act to stop it?

Rarely do American Presidents display the raw willfulness that President Obama did Monday in rolling out his plan to reorganize the economy in the name of climate change. Without a vote in Congress or even much public debate, Mr. Obama is using his last 18 months to dictate U.S. energy choices for the next 20 or 30 years. This abuse of power is regulation without representation.

So I must ask, what part of President Barack Obama financing Islamic terrorism do you NOT understand?

We are watching the left do its darndest to defend the indefensible, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) — always beware when politicians use the word “comprehensive” — which is the official name of the Iranian nuclear agreement. Funny thing, it says “joint,” but the Iranians are telling the Americans we cannot take part in the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) inspections — and it has been revealed that there are secret side deals between the IAEA and Iran. The Iranian emissary to the IAEA stated that the terms will not be disclosed to any other country — so much for “joint.” - Allen West

GOP: White House improperly colluded "with outside environmental groups" on climate rule

1st GOP Presidential debate is Thursday

Why did I miss Trump's appeal so badly? Simply put: I had NEVER EVER seen a reversal in how people perceive a candidate who is as well known as Trump -- much less a reversal in such a short period of time. I based my conclusion that Trump would never be a relevant player in the Republican primary fight on the ideas that once people 1) know you and 2) don't like you, you can't change those twin realities much.

That was 100 percent true. Until Donald Trump proved it (and me) wrong.

Point taken. Never say "never" in politics. Thanks for reminding me of that old adage, Donald.

The rapid-fire interviews with the candidates, appearing on stage for five minutes at a time, one after another over the course of two hours, allowed the contenders to stick to talking points and to avoid the full-contact confrontations that await them as debate season intensifies....
