The real failure of government policy is on water. For decades, policy officials have been predicting that California’s population would explode. (2) Now they are saying California’s population is expected to grow by as much as 33% over the next 20 years, in significant part because of Governor’s Brown’s policies that encourage end runs around our immigration laws.
At the same time, Governor Brown and other policy makers are trumpeting that climate change is depriving California of rain. (3) Of course, California’s boom and bust cycle of rain pre-dates climate change claims by thousands of years. We don’t have to go back that far to remember the drought of the 1970s – ironically during a prior Brown Administration – that occurred during a time when scientists warned of global cooling.
