President's Message
We all know we have a very important election in November, California and America are at a precipice. We need to bring sanity back to California and to do that we must put an end to the Democrat super majority, and elect our Republican candidates for Assembly, State Senate, and from Governor to Insurance Commissioner if we want to see California as the GOLDEN State once again. It is also critical that we keep the Republican majority in the US House of Representatives and we must take back the US Senate by winning a majority of Republican seats. This is possible but only if we work hard to elect all our Republican candidates.
We have an awesome slate of excellent Republican candidates across our state. But no matter how good our candidates are they cannot win with out our help. Now that the primary is over we can support all of our Republican candidates on the ballot, they are our nominees elected by the voters! We also need to remember we are members of the California Federation of Republican, NFRW and our local clubs and just a remainder that our bylaws state….It is considered a breach of ethics to publicly promote a candidate of another party in speech, print or electronic communication in a partisan or nonpartisan election. We are Republican woman and are task is to support our Republican candidates but most important our goal is to elect Republicans majorities in California and DC to help clean up the mess we have in California and stop the current administration in Washington DC from destroying America!
I am a little concerned because I sense some apathy among some members and clubs. Some may be discouraged because their candidate did not win the primary, some might be thinking about not voting for specific candidates because they don’t agree with the candidate on ” XYZ”. It is impossible to agree 100% with anyone and our candidates are always better than the Democrats. I remember a friend telling me in 2008 she would not vote for McCain because he was not a true Republican and she wanted to teach the RNC a lesson. What lesson did she learn? She helped open the door to Mr.Obama and his fundamental change of America!
Sometimes situations can feel so impossible that it seems better to just walk away. No one thought an untrained band of militia would defeat the strongest Military & Naval power in the world! Where would we be today if General Washington and the continental Army gave up? Isn’t the future of California and America worth fighting for? We cannot drop out, or give up, we have to keep fighting until we win!! Let’s take a look at the political climate in 1938 when NFRW was founded, FDR was re-elected with only 2 states going Republican, we had only 89 R’s in the House of Representatives,15 US Senators and only 6 Republican Governors. Did our Founding Mothers give up and say we can’t win…NO! They worked harder to make a real difference. I know how passionate and concerned you all are about the future of California and America so we have to stay positive, stay on message to educate and energize the voters. That is the only way to win! We have to support all our Republican candidates, talk about what you like in our candidates and work to help them get elected. There is so much more we agree with than disagree.
We are so fortunate to live in the greatest country the world has even known. President Reagan once said freedom is only one generation away from extinction . The future is in our hands! We need to honor those who came before us and become today’s greatest generation! We do not want to have to tell our grandchildren what it used to be like to live in America! We
need to register voters, walk precincts, make phone calls, whatever it takes to win in November and save the American Dream for future generations.
God Bless America
Thank you for all you do,
Roseann
Working Together To Make A Difference
State Controller's Race
Last week Assemblyman John Perez called off the recount in 15 counties for the State Controller's race, thereby conceding victory to Betty Yee who finished second behind Republican Ashley Swearengin. It was calculated that the full recount could last through the November general election, possibly through January of 2015. With this news, as well as the state Democrat Party endorsing Betty Yee, Assemblyman Perez realized there was little he could do to make the top two of this primary. This election remains very important, as Republican Ashley Swearengin was the only Republican to win first place in a statewide office top two primary. The general election is right around the corner, please work hard to get our Republican candidates elected!
Governor Brown Signs Gun Control Bill
Late last week Governor Brown signed into law AB 1964 (Dickinson, D) designed to limit the exemption for single-shot pistols from the state’s unsafe handgun roster, excluding semiautomatic pistols altered to not fire in semiautomatic mode. This is yet another chip away from our Second Amendment rights here in California. California's "unsafe handgun" roster is already laughable, and this further limits law-abiding citizens from owning guns. The bill was originally passed out of the legislature on party lines. Governor Brown signed the bill with no comments, yet his actions speak louder than words. It is obvious the Democrats in Sacramento want to severely limit our Second Amendment rights.
