Why I’m a Republican
◼ Last year I was invited to speak at the University of Chicago Law School. During the question and answer session, a black female student asked me a pointed question: “In today’s America, how can a black woman be a Republican?” - Mia Love
...Fiscal discipline, limited government, personal responsibility: These are the values that have made America a strong and free country, a shining city on a hill that countless millions throughout history have sacrificed everything to come to.
I believe conservative values are what lift people out of poverty. I believe conservative values lead to the greatest amount of prosperity for the greatest number of people. I believe conservative values allow immigrants like my parents to come here with nothing but $10 in their pockets, and then within one generation witness their daughter serve as her city’s mayor and possibly—hopefully—as her district’s representative in Congress.
