As columnist Charles Krauthammer remarked, rather than investigating and punishing members of the IRS who discriminated against conservative 501(c)(4)s, the IRS now simply wants to change the rules to cover its hide. Even more disconcerting, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman David Camp was right on the money when he said these rule changes "smack of the administration trying to shutdown potential critics."
