Obama will call economy 'unfinished task'... Took 57 Vacation Days Since Vowing He 'Will Not Rest'...

Obama will call restoring the economy 'unfinished task' in speech - LA Times
“It is our unfinished task to restore the basic bargain that built this country, the idea that if you work hard and meet your responsibilities, you can get ahead, no matter where you come from, what you look like or who you love,” Obama will say Tuesday night, according to excerpts of his speech released by the White House. “It is our unfinished task to make sure that this government works on behalf of the many, and not just the few.”

Obama will say that “it’s not a bigger government we need, but a smarter government that sets priorities and invests in broad-based growth.”

Back in 2009, the president promised never to "rest" until the job situation was fixed. Nearly four years later, he's done a lot of resting.

According to The Weekly Standard, Pres. Obama has had 83 vacation days overall and Factcheck.org says he took 26 of those in 2009. That means the president has taken at least 57 vacation days since his vow not to "rest."

Boehner: How much further is Obama going to run us into the sewer? - Charlie Spiering/Washington Examiner @charlesspiering

Boehner signaled he was not interested in additional calls for government spending to boost the economy, suggesting that it would only make the economic problems in America worse.

“If government spending were the tonic for all our ills, this would have been solved a long time ago,” he said reminding the press that Obama added five trillion dollars in new debt over the last four years.

“How much further is he going to run us into the sewer?” Boehner asked.
