"Fine?"

Video: Axelrod dodges CNN question on “private sector doing fine” … three times - HotAir

It’s going to be a long day for Team Obama. David Axelrod appeared on CNN’s State of the Union ...to attempt to spin the disastrous press conference on Friday, and Candy Crowley asked him directly no less than three times if he agreed with President Obama that “the private sector is doing fine.” Axelrod refuses to give a direct answer on all three occasions, the first two of which are captured in this clip from the GOP:

Romney, the GOP presidential candidate, responded within minutes from a campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

“He said the private sector is doing fine,” Romney said. “Is he really that out of touch? I think he’s defining what it means to be detached and out of touch with the American people. Has there ever been an American president who is so far from reality as to believe in an America where 23 million Americans are out of work.”

Yesterday I asserted, and then, with help from readers, proved that this claim -- that the private sector is "doing fine" -- is no slip of the tongue, but an article of faith among liberals, including Harry Reid (making the exact same claim last October, while supporting the White House's "Jobs Bill") and Paul Krugman (continuing to insist, with the president, that the key to prosperity is more spending on government bureaucrats, government worker benefits, and more government, period).
