◼ Local NAACP hosts MLK celebration - Times-Standard
The local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will be hosting a celebration in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday at noon at the Adorni Center, 1011 Waterfront Drive in Eureka.
There will also be a meeting at 3:30 p.m. today at the Boys & Girls Club, 3015 J St. in Eureka.
The club depends on members' donations and invites citizens who stand for tolerance, dignity and diversity to join together to protect their freedom.
Regular membership in the club is $30 per year for adults and $15 for youth. For more information, call 268-8287.
