Community members from all walks of life are mourning the death of Chris Crawford, a local businessman who helped connect Humboldt County to the digital world. Crawford, 58, died Saturday after a brief battle with cancer.
A board member of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce and the Humboldt Business Council, Crawford was also a founding member of the Redwood Technology Consortium and served as a board member for the Humboldt No. 1 Fire Protection District. According to his obituary, local fire stations flew their flags at half-staff Saturday to honor Crawford.
The family is holding a memorial service at the Arkley Center on April 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
