◼ Local developer's advocate to speak
Kay Backer, an advocate for area developers from the Humboldt Economic Land Plan group, will speak before the Humboldt Republican Women Federated on Thursday.
The event will be held at the Eureka Moose Lodge, with the buffet line starting at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting at noon. The speaker will begin after club business is concluded.
The event, a fundraiser for a new scholarship from Humboldt Republican Women, is open to the public. To listen to the speaker and enjoy a beverage, the cost is $4. To have dessert and a beverage, as well as enjoy the speaker, the cost is $6. Full lunch, speaker included, is $12.
