There are at least promises of spring, although that cold wind has a tricky way of taking charge. That said, it makes it a pleasure to think about a couple of tea parties scheduled for our Humboldt Republican Women Federated members, their guests, and interested community members.
On Wednesday, April 15, multiple organizations are focused on a Tea Party gathering of citizens who think they pay enough taxes now and are far from pleased with the direction they see the country headed. Join them at 12 noon and stand up to be counted at a Taxed Enough Already gathering at The Court House, 5th & I, Eureka.
Thursday, April 16, from 1 to 3 pm is the time for our Membership Tea at Esther Holmes’ home at 637 Driver Road in Trinidad. It is a great opportunity to visit and enjoy a fashion show by the Irish and the Cotton Shops. There’s a rumor that you will be knee-deep in cookies and fun.
Bring Your Old Cell Phones
Please bring your old cell phones to the Membership Tea Thursday, April 16. Collecting our old cell phones and checking with family, friends, and neighbors for any of their discarded cell phones will enable us to send them in to be traded for phone cards for our service personnel. This could enable many in military service to make the calls home that are valuable support for them and their families. Cell phone accessories are also useful for trading BY COLLEEN HEDRICK
