Message from The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) re: The Confirmation of Betsy DeVos, Secretary of Education

The vote to confirm the President's choice to be Secretary of Education will be extremely tight.

President Donald Trump has nominated Betsy DeVos to be America's next Secretary of Education.

DeVos is a proven education reformer and chair of the American Federation for Children. She has spent a lifetime working on behalf of parents, students and teachers to improve our nation's education system.

As an unflinching champion of charter schools and vouchers for underprivileged children, Betsy DeVos is the perfect catalyst to bring much-needed change to America's education system.

On January 8, NFRW President Carrie Almond endorsed DeVos's nomination, noting the NFRW's long-standing commitment to improving education and literacy rates for our nation's children and long-standing support for accountability, flexibility, local control and choice in education.

Your Senators need to hear from you today...

There has been a fierce backlash against DeVos from the left, and especially the teacher's unions.

The Senate is set to vote on Devos's nomination on Tuesday, and the vote is expected to be so close Vice President Mike Pence may have to break a tie.

That's why your calls of support are so important. Senators need to know that the grass-roots support Betsy DeVos.
