Embarrassing: Union protesters have to be shipped up from Boston to Walker event

The New Hampshire GOP held a grassroots training event featuring Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a potential 2016 Presidential candidate. - Kimberly Morin/Granite Grok

In case you don’t yet know Walker, he’s the Governor from Wisconsin who fought against egregious union behavior that was ripping off the taxpayers. Unions literally threatened businesses; some Democrat Legislators fled the state and they tried to siege the capitol building.

Of course, if you know the story, you know Walker not only handily beat a recall election but he won re-election as well. Unions gave the country a good glimpse of their outrageous bullying behavior during that time. Oh and the cherry on top? Walker signed a right-to-work bill in Wisconsin last week. Worker freedom doesn’t sit well with union bosses who prefer forced unionism as exists in New Hampshire so they decided to protest the event today. Unfortunately New Hampshire Unions embarrassed themselves by shipping protesters up from Boston.

Many held pre-made signs claiming Walker isn’t Presidential. One used a tree branch and was wearing a Run Lizzie ‘lie, cheat, fraud’ Warren t-shirt which was quite amusing. There weren’t very many union protesters at the event and it’s unclear just how many were from out-of-state but apparently they left when it started to rain and most likely before Walker even arrived....

Meanwhile the auditorium was packed and the New Hampshire GOP talked about outreach to voters; voter data; forming town committees along with some social media training. Chair Jennifer Horn got laughs when she talked about Hillary Clinton sitting in her basement deleting emails and Jonathan Van Fleet from the Concord Monitor whined that they weren’t allowed in the training portion. Of course, he blamed Walker even though Walker had nothing to do with the training. The full press was allowed into the event as soon as Walker arrived.
Walker Defeats the Unions (Again) - James Sherk/Daily Signal
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made history on Monday: His signature made Wisconsin a right-to-work state. This marks symbolic and substantive milestones. Symbolically, half the country now guarantees voluntary union dues. Substantively, Walker has helped demonstrate that right-to-work is a political asset, not a liability.

Until Monday, unions could force workers to pay dues or get fired in a majority of U.S. states. Walker’s signature makes Wisconsin the 25th state offering workplace freedom. Wisconsin also became the third new right-to-work state in the Great Lakes region in the past three years. Walker has helped make worker freedom fully mainstream.

Moreover, Walker has given legislators across the country the courage to support right-to-work. Gallup polling shows Americans overwhelmingly favor voluntary union dues. But historically few legislators outside the South or Western Plains states would touch the issue. They feared unions’ political machines.
Why the Country Is Turning Against Unions - Stephen Moore/Daily Signal

"History shows that when workers aren’t forced to pay union dues and fees, they usually choose not to."
