President Obama has taken a big hit to his approval ratings after being awarded Politifact’s “Lie of the Year” for misleading Americans on “keeping your plan” under ObamaCare. But now he’s pulling a familiar card. You got it – the race card.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Obama addressed his falling job-approval ratings:
“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President.”Obama has always been more popular than his policies; that is, until recently. He was elected – and reelected – with support from millions of white Americans. The majority of (white) Americans did give him the benefit of the doubt - many of them, precisely because he was America’s first black president, but his policies and results have proved otherwise.
I’m going to go out on a limb, here, and suggest that none of the above has anything to do with the color of Obama’s skin – nor that of any of the other people to whom I referred. It does, however, have everything to do with their respective policies, proposals, ideology and track records. Think about it, America.
