◼ HOW DO YOU DEBATE OBAMA? MAKE HIM OWN THE ECONOMY - David Harsanyi/HUMAN EVENTS @davidharsanyi
It’s simple. During the upcoming debates, no matter what question is thrown at him, Mitt Romney has to dump the economy onto the lap of its rightful owner. The president, Romney might suggest, shouldn’t be judged on the economy he campaigned so hard to inherit, but the recovery he has botched. As it stands, Obama is the owner of the most pathetic economic revival in American history. A recovery so weak, it’s difficult to believe that voters even think of it as one....

...5. The narrative: perhaps it’s a testament to Romney’s miserable month, but in the fickle world of the media, the moment is ripe for a change of tack. It might seem venal, but for the last six months the US electionn story has moved only in one direction (Romney’s campaign car-crash) but that narrative, reinforced by a slew of negative swing-state polls, is now getting repetitive. The pundits are itching for a comeback story. If Romney can give them even half a nibble of an excuse, they’ll bite. Hard.
◼ In pre-debate spin, Romney is winning by losing - Neil Munro/DAILY CALLER
“The best news for Romney going into the debates is that voters have very low expectations for him and therefore the bar for him to change some minds is set lower than it is for the president,” said a survey released Oct. 2 by Quinnipiac University.
Fifty-four percent of respondents predicted Obama will win the debate, while only 28 percent thought Romney would win, said the poll of 1,912 likely voters.
