The Humboldt County Republican Party will honor Cherie and Robin Arkley as Republicans of the Year at an invitation dinner on April 14 at the Ingomar Club.
Together with their daughters, Rob Arkley, a native of Humboldt County, and Cherie Arkley, from Piedmont, Calif., own Eureka-based SN Master Holdings.
Since the 1990s, the Arkleys have been active in development, redevelopment and civic projects, creating the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts, funding an upgrade of the Sequoia Park Zoo and contributing $2 million to the waterfront boardwalk, according to a press release.
The Arkleys also founded Economic Fuel, an annual competition that awards seed money for new businesses.
