Romney suddenly closes on Santorum in Michigan

Just in time for tomorrow's final debate before Super Tuesday, Mitt Romney is surging in Michigan, his home state where he'd been badly trailing Rick Santorum for the Republican primary one week from today. - Investors.com

According to a new Public Policy Poll out late last night, in the past week Romney's support has jumped nine points in the crucial Midwestern state to carve away at Santorum's lead, reducing a 15-point margin to only four, 37%-33%. Four points happens to also be the poll's margin of error. This new survey found Ron Paul with 15% support and Newt Gingrich trailing badly at 10%.

In a less meaningful Gallup national poll, that has nothing to do with delegates, Santorum leads Romney 36%-26%.
