I hear from many people that these are times that are troubling and everyday seems to add still more causes for great concern. Those circumstances readily lend themselves to frequent feelings of worry and frustration since there is no ready solution.
We call state and national politicians, send emails and letters, sign petitions, register voters, join the TEA Party marchers, and if we are surprisingly lucky, get a letter to the editor printed. Essentially, the resource we have is a show of numbers and our most valuable asset is bulldog persistence. Do not give up.
COUPONS, PLEASE
For the July meeting, bring manufacturer’s coupons for food and household items that have been clipped and trimmed. We will send them to a military base to help stretch the buying power of overseas service families. Coupons are accepted up to three months past their due dates. Please—
no store coupons.
Also for the July meeting please bring the toiletries to donate to American Business Women’s Association’s women’s shelter. One - use sizes are also welcome. Let’s extend our helping hands.
Please understand the Elks Lodge policy of a $4.00 charge that can be beverage/speaker or for speaker only. The facility has to function as a business. They do a good job of serving our organization. BY COLLEEN HEDRICK
