“Solving the Riddle of Humboldt County General Plan Update”
Bill Barnum, a real estate attorney in Eureka, focuses his practice in real estate litigation and transactions, with an ever-expanding practice in land use law. A native of Eureka, he graduated in 1976 from HSU with a Business Management degree and in 1979, from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. He has been an instructor in Real Estate Law at CR, is a trained mediator of 23 years and serves as arbitrator and as Judge Pro Tem in Small Claims Court. In his 30-year legal career in Humboldt County , Mr. Barnum has tried real estate cases involving boundary disputes, easement issues, sales transactions, and eminent domain and land use entitlements. He represents private individuals and businesses. He also represents the Northern California Association of Homebuilders with many contractors as longtime clients. As a volunteer member of HELP, he has donated hundreds of hours to assisting the community in the Humboldt County General Plan Update process in the last 8 years. Bill has represented clients in matters involving the Subdivision Map Act, the Forest Practices Act, and the California Environmental Quality Act.
